WHY THE FOOD INDUSTRY?

It is the second group of most important activity of Chilean economy.

For its commercialization, all food products need to have a good packaging.

 

Country Vision: To promote in Chile an industry of food focused on the satisfaction of the growing demand, mainly in “health and well-being” category, through the incorporation of technologies, sustainable development of new products and packaging intended for the global market.

INVESTMENT OF $9.700 MILLIONS

ON A TERM OF TEN YEARS

This investment will contribute to solve infrastructure, equipment and human resources gaps in the food sector. It will be a coordinator for the national technological capabilities and for the steering of the the development and commercial escalation of new products.

 

Three steering areas are focused: healthy ingredients and supplies, production of functional and healthy food, development of steering capabilities on packaging. Look forward to join the academy with the entrepreneur sector through I+D+i.

II - EFFICIENCY, INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT AGENDA

2014 - 2018

CHILE is on a new stage of economic growth, where the aim is to go from an economy based on NATURAL RESOURCES to another based on KNOWLEDGMENT; where there is a place for sectors capable of producing new PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, to the development of the industry and TO GENERATE HUBS OF INNOVATION AND REGIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP.

The Efficiency, Innovation and Development Agenda incorporates

47 MEASURES, 10 BILLS AND 37 ADMINISTRATIVE INITIATIVES, with an investment of US$1.500 millions between 2014 and 2018.

2013 – 2019

LAW 20.020 WASTE MANAGEMENT, EXTENDED RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRODUCER

Economic instrument to waste management, forcing producers of priority products to organize

and finance waste management resulting from the products placed on the market.

Goals will be established by Supreme Decreet.

 

III - SUSTAINABILITY AGENDA

2017 - 2030

SDGs, goals, recycling and renewable energy are mattes that will make themselves heard loudly during the next year.

But, above all, the Government will try to make the citizens be aware of the importance of a sustainable development.
